Queensland businesses will soon benefit from the $35 million program to help businesses save money on their electricity bills. The Queensland Business Energy Savings Transformation (QBEST) program will support the purchase of energy-efficient equipment, smart technology, and energy management systems to drive down their energy costs.
Rebates of up to $12,500 will be available for eligible businesses that purchase (and install if required) eligible energy efficient equipment. Eligible businesses must spend a minimum of $8,000 (GST exclusive) on the purchase and installation of the equipment.
The rebate is 50% of the purchase and installation costs (GST exclusive) of the eligible equipment.
Only 1 rebate is available for each eligible business. However, a rebate application can consist of multiple, eligible energy efficient equipment items, provided the total rebate amount does not exceed $12,500.
